Bhubaneswar: As many as 11,059 new Covid-19 cases and 32 fatalities have been reported in Odisha in last 24 hours. The caseload in the State went up to 7,03,441 while Covid related death toll climbed to 2,516.
Of the new cases, 11,059 people tested positive from quarantine centres while 4,866 caught the infection from local contacts.
Out of 32 deaths, six patients died of the virus in Khurdha out of which four were from Bhubaneswar city which is part of the district.
Similarly, four fatalities have been reported each from Ganjam and Jharsuguda districts. Three deaths have been reported from Angul, Sundergarh and Kalahandi districts each, two each from Puri, Gajapati, one each from Keonjhar, Nayagarh, Cuttack and Bolangir districts.

As many as 11627 patients recovered during the period pushing the tally to 58, 9610. The active cases in the State stood at 11,1262.
Cuttack district climbed to first spot in daily infections with 1133 cases while Khordha which continued to remain on the top came down to second position with 1010 cases in last 24 hours.
With 859 new infections, Angul district stood third in the row while Sundergarh remained next to it with 729 fresh cases.
As many as 662 cases have been reported from Mayurbhanj district, 564 from Jajpur, 430 from Puri, 407 from Kalahandi and 400 cases from Balasore district.
Sambalpur district witnessed 379 fresh infections while Bhadrak saw 377 infections in last 24 hours. Dhenkanal, Jagatsinghpur, Nabarangpur, Kendrapara districts registered 351, 330, 322 and 309 single day cases respectively.
Districts which recorded daily cases between 200 and 300 are Boudh (261), Nayagarh (246), Jharsuguda (228), Sonepur (204) and Keonjhar (200). As many as 203 cases have been recorded from the State pool.
Koraput registered 175 daily infections, Rayagada saw 177 cases and Bolangir witnessed 166 new cases in last 24 hours.
As many as 155 more people tested positive for the virus in Ganjam district while 103 each from Kandhamal and Deogarh.
Four districts reported below 100 cases are Gajapati (67), Nuapada (44) and Malkangiri (98).
