The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced doorstep sample collection facility for senior citizens. Those having symptoms or suspect infection can dial 1929 to avail the facility.
After dialling the number, senior citizens will have to share their name and residential address. A van will arrive at their doorstep to collect sample for the COVID-19 test, informed BMC Commissioner Sanjay Singh.
This apart, the BMC has also decided to facilitate the elderly people with pick-and-drop facility for vaccination.

Senior citizens, who are living alone, will be provided with pick-and-drop facility by the BMC for COVID-19 vaccination. Beneficiaries can dial 1929 and get the facility, said Singh.
Moreover, Ganjam Collector on Saturday informed that the Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC) will start COVID-19 vaccination at doorstep for senior citizens from Monday.
Earlier, a petition was filed in the Orissa High court seeking judicial intervention to ensure doorstep vaccination for senior citizens and physically challenged people.
