Divine ambiance prevailed across Odisha on Monday as various organisations celebrated deepotsav to mark the Pran Pratistha (consecration) of Ram Lalla and the inauguration of Lord Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
The Marwari Society in Cuttack observed deepotsav with religious fervour on Monday evening following the consecration ceremony of Lord Ram in Ayodhya.
The members of the society distributed 40,000 laddus and kheer among the people to celebrate the homecoming of Ram Lalla.
Speaking about the celebration, Cuttack Marwari Samaj advisor, Raman Bagedia said, “This day will go down as one of the most important days in the history of Independent India. We, at the Marwari Samaj tried to create a similar atmosphere in Cuttack as in Ayodhya right now.”
This is a happy moment. So we want the people to be happy too. That is why we are distributing laddus. We have prepared 40,000 laddus for the occasion. 10,000 laddus have already distributed in the morning. 30,000 laddus will be distributed tonight. Not only laddus, but we are distributing kheer and jalebi to the people too,” said Bagedia.
Not only in Cuttack, the Pran Pratishtha of Lord Ram was celebrated in other parts of Odisha too, including Bhubaneswar, Balasore, Berhampur and Sambalpur.
“I cannot describe my happiness in words. My Lord has come home. My generation had seen the deaths of thousands of Kar sevaks during Ram Mandir movement. I am grateful to see the construction of Ram Temple at Ayodhya in my lifetime,” said a devotee in Balasore.
“Forget about India, the way Lord Ram has been welcomed in other countries of the world, shows He was already there in everybody’s mind,” she said.

In Sambalpur, devotees lit 1.11 lakh diyas at the banks of Mahanadi river and bursted firecrackers to celebrate the occasion on Monday evening.
Similarly, the residents of Berhampur observed Deepotsav by lighting diyas on their doorsteps and at temples.
