Two men tragically lost their lives following a head-on collision between a scooty and a motorbike late Saturday night near the Glez Hotel in Nabarangpur district. The victims have been identified as Amit Bag and Trilochan Jani, with police now piecing together the events that led to the fatal crash.
Trilochan, who was employed at a roadside eatery in Ahuli village in the Podaguda area of Koraput district, was returning home on his scooter at the time of the mishap. The collision occurred tragically when Trilochan, who was making his way back to Nabarangpur town on his scooter after work, collided with Amit Bag.
On the other hand, Amit had been to Nabarangpur to purchase decoration items for the upcoming Christmas festivity and New Year. After the shopping, he was travelling back to his village, located in the Nandahandi block, when his motorbike collided head-on with Trilochan's scooty.

Residents quickly alerted emergency services, and both victims were transported to the Nabarangpur District Headquarters Hospital (DHH). However, despite the rapid response, medical professionals pronounced the men dead upon their arrival.
Nabarangpur Sadar Police responded promptly by arriving at the hospital. The bodies were subsequently seized and taken to the morgue for post-mortem examinations. Investigations are underway to ascertain the exact cause and culpability in this tragic incident.
