At a time when the world is making all possible efforts to come in terms with the new normal amid the COVID-19 pandemic, reforms, bonus and allowances under 7th Pay Commission recommendations have brought some cheers to several states and the Central government employees.
7th Pay Commission: Here's a look at the bonanzas for government employees in this festive season:
The Union Cabinet has approved Productivity Linked Bonus of 78 days wages to eligible non gazetted Railway employees. 11.58 lakhs employees will benefit because of the move. The Ministry of Railways said that this move would motivate its employees for improving performance.
Productivity Linked Bonus for 2019-2020 will be reportedly paid to 16.97 lakh non-gazetted employees of commercial establishments like Railways, Posts, Defence, EPFO, ESIC, etc. and the financial implication would be Rs 2,791 crore.

In a major reform, the Narendra Modi government has entitled male employees of the government to Child Care Leave (CCL). The privilege of CCL will be available only for those male employees who happen to be “single male parent”, which may include male employees who are widowers or divorcees or even unmarried and may therefore, be expected to take up the responsibility of child care as a single-handed parent.
Moreover, the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) has issued orders relaxing the Leave Travel Concession (LTC) facility for the government employees to travel by Air to visit Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, North Eastern Region and Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
The Rajasthan government has announced a Diwali bonus for nearly six lakh state employees. The maximum payable bonus for 2018-19 would be Rs 6,774, an official release said.
Similarly, the Uttar Pradesh government has also reportedly approved a special festival package and advance payments, special cash package (in lieu of LTC) schemes announced by the Centre to state government employees.
