Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari retained their key portfolios in the third term of the NDA government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, according to the list of portfolios released on Monday.

The list was released after the first meeting of the 30-strong Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Modi, a day after the swearing-in ceremony.

BJP leader and four-time former Chief of Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, was on Monday allocated the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare in the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA 3.0 Cabinet.

Chouhan was sworn in as a Cabinet Minister for the first time on Sunday.

    PM Modi signs first file related to release of 17th instalment of PM Kisan Nidhi

    After taking oath, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday signed his first file authorising the release of 17th instalment of PM Kisan Nidhi. 

    This will benefit 9.3 crore farmers and distribute around Rs 20,000 crores. 

    After signing the file, PM Modi said “Ours is a Government fully committed to Kisan Kalyan. It is therefore fitting that the first file signed on taking charge is related to farmer welfare. We want to keep working even more for the farmers and the agriculture sector in the times to come.”

    Modi 3.0: 71 ministers from 24 states, including 11 from allies take oath 

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with 71 Council of Ministers took oath at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Sunday. This is the third consecutive term of the BJP-led National Democratic alliance (NDA) at the Centre, under the leadership of PM Modi. 
    The list of 71 ministers in the new coalition government include 30 Cabinet Ministers, 5 Ministers of State (MoS) with independent charge, and 36 Ministers of State (MoS).
    While the portfolios haven’t been announced, the formation and structure of Modi 3.0 shows a pan-India representation and also adequate focus on the alliance partners.

    4 Rajasthan MPs meet PM Modi ahead of oath-taking ceremony

    Four recently elected MPs from Rajasthan including Bikaner MP Arjunram Meghwal, Bhagirath Chaudhary from Ajmer, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat from Jodhpur and Bhupendra Yadav from Alwar attended the tea party hosted at PM Narendra Modi’ residence on Sunday. 

    It is believed that all four MPs will be given Cabinet berths in Modi 3.0. 

    The swearing-in will take place on Sunday evening at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

    Transgender community members to attend Modi's oath ceremony to bless new govt

    About 50 people from the transgender community have been invited to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi and the new cabinet of ministers to them give blessings.

    Before the ceremony, BJP MP and former Social Justice and Empowerment minister Virendra Kumar felicitated the community members at his residence.

    "This is a part of Prime Minister Modi's call of 'sabka saath sabka vishwas and sabha prayas'. Including people from transgenders in the ceremony is to enhance the inclusivity message of the PM," Kumar told media.

    This is the first time that people from the transgender community are formally invited for the swearing-in ceremony, he said.

    These participants have made contribution in the empowerment of the transgender community, Kumar added.

    Sonam Kinnar from the UP BJP unit said she along with 50 members of the community have come here to give blessings to the new government.

    "We are saddened that PM Modi did not receive the number of seats as expected due to caste-based politics but we have full confidence in our PM and the situation will improve," she said.
