Nandini C.M., a 26-year-old television actress, was an emerging face in the Kannada and Tamil television industry. Originally from Kottur in Ballari district, Nandini completed her pre-university education in 2018. She later enrolled in an engineering course at an institute in Bengaluru but gradually moved away from academics as her interest in acting deepened.

The Incident in Bengaluru
Nandini was found dead at Insta Living PG in Kengeri, Bengaluru, where she had been residing since August 2025. According to police, she was found hanging from a window frame in her room in the early hours of December 29. A case of unnatural death has been registered at the Kengeri police station. Authorities stated that there is no immediate suspicion of foul play, and investigations are ongoing.
Her mother, G.R. Basavarajeshwari, filed a formal complaint, noting that no one is suspected in connection with her daughter’s death. A death note recovered from the room is being treated as a crucial piece of evidence.
Family Pressure and Emotional Distress
Preliminary findings suggest that Nandini was under significant emotional distress. After the death of her father, a government school teacher, in 2021, she was offered a government job on compassionate grounds in 2023. However, Nandini reportedly declined the offer, expressing her desire to continue acting and live life on her own terms.
In her personal diary and note, she is said to have written about the pressure from family members to take up a government job and about feeling unheard at home. Reports also indicate that she was distressed over health concerns and faced pressure related to marriage, which added to her mental burden.
