Where It All Started?

After completing the course, Sarita cleared her air-hostess interview and invited Maddy for dinner to thank him. That simple gesture soon blossomed into heartfelt conversations, companionship, and eventually, a deep love that neither of them had anticipated.

Eight Years of Patience and a Simple Wedding

Their bond grew stronger over eight years - years in which Maddy was still searching for his first big break in films. In 1999, the couple finally tied the knot in a warm, traditional Tamil ceremony that reflected simplicity and love. Just a year later, his life changed overnight with Mani Ratnam’s Alai Payuthey (dubbed in Telugu as Sakhi), which made him a star across industries.

Fame Never Shook the Foundation of Their Marriage

Despite rising fame, Madhavan remained deeply rooted and devoted to Sarita. She often accompanied him to shoots, and he made sure that success never disrupted their relationship. Over time, their story became known as one of the most admired real-life romances in cinema.

Celebrating 26 Years of Togetherness

In July 2025, the couple marked 26 years of marriage, built on trust, humour, respect, and understanding. The 3 Idiots actor often credits the strength of their relationship to giving each other space and staying honest. With his trademark wit, he adds, “No husband can win an argument with his wife, so don’t try!”

Marking their anniversary, he wrote, “In 26 years, I wouldn’t change a single moment.”

Their Son Who Made the Nation Proud

Their son Vedaant, born in 2005, is now one of India’s most promising young swimmers. He clinched gold at the Danish Open in 2022 and silver at the Asian Age Group Championship, becoming a name to watch in Indian sports. Even in moments of victory, Madhavan reminds him to remain grounded and responsible.

A Career Still Glowing, A Family Still United

As of 2025, Madhavan continues to shine across industries with films like Shaitaan (2024) and Kesari Chapter 2 (2025). His recent releases include Aap Jaisa Koi and De De Pyaar De 2.
