The timing and tone closely mirror the strategy Anand used earlier while announcing the title of King, which was also preceded by a similar countdown before a dramatic reveal.

Fans are now convinced that an official release date announcement is just around the corner, with rumours suggesting a possible Janmashtami 2026 release.

What We Know About King So Far

King was officially announced on Shah Rukh Khan’s 60th birthday, with a title reveal teaser showing the actor in a striking new avatar featuring silver hair and ear accessories. SRK later described his character as “very dark, grey, and ruthless,” adding that it has been carefully written by Siddharth Anand and Sujoy Ghosh.

Produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures, King marks Shah Rukh Khan’s first on-screen collaboration with his daughter Suhana Khan, who plays his protégé. The film also reunites SRK with Deepika Padukone and boasts an ensemble cast including Anil Kapoor, Rani Mukerji, Arshad Warsi, Abhay Verma, and Raghav Juyal.
