For weeks, speculation had run wild - could Megastar Chiranjeevi be playing Prabhas’ father in Spirit? The idea had fans thrilled, but Vanga has now put an end to the frenzy.

During a recent chat with the team of Jigiris, Vanga firmly clarified, “No, no, these are rumours. He is not in the film. If I have to do, I would do a straight solo film with him.”

A die-hard fan of Chiranjeevi, Vanga has never hidden his admiration for the veteran star. A giant poster of Chiru adorns his office wall, and the director fondly shared its backstory.

“That is my favourite shot. A while ago, I posted that on social media wishing him a happy birthday. One of his best expressions, I feel,” he revealed with a smile.

Don Lee Rumours Continue to Stir Curiosity

Another name creating waves is South Korean superstar Ma Dong-seok - popularly known as Don Lee. Reports have claimed that he’s been roped in to play the antagonist opposite Prabhas. Some even suggested he has already begun filming!

When quizzed about this, Vanga chose to play it cool - neither confirming nor denying Lee’s involvement. The filmmaker’s silence has only intensified curiosity about Spirit’s global scale and casting ambitions.

Amidst all this buzz, Vanga has been actively promoting Jigiris, directed by Harish Reddy Uppula. At the film’s trailer launch, he spoke warmly about his bond with producer Krishna Vodapalli, calling him his “childhood friend.”

Meanwhile, Spirit - starring Prabhas, Vivek Oberoi, Triptii Dimri, Prakash Raj, and Kanchana - continues to be one of the most anticipated films in Indian cinema. The first audio glimpse, dropped on Prabhas’ birthday, sent fans into a frenzy online.
