Since its release on December 5, 2025, Dhurandhar has been generating strong buzz, and one name that has consistently stood out is Sara Arjun.
The former child actor has impressed audiences with her fierce performance as Yalina Jamali, the rebellious daughter of Pakistani politician Jameel Jamali, played by Rakesh Bedi.
Why Sara Arjun Put Studies on Hold
In a recent conversation with ETimes, Sara revealed that acting was not always her immediate plan. While growing up, she had intended to pursue higher studies abroad, including training at the prestigious Strasberg school. However, things changed after the release of Ponniyin Selvan 2, which brought her a wave of new opportunities.
Sara explained that among the offers she received, two projects — Euphoria and Magic — truly resonated with her. According to her, these films explored subjects and social issues that she felt needed to be addressed. She shared that her decision went beyond an actor’s desire to perform, adding that on a human level, she felt compelled to be part of stories that could spark conversation and reflection, especially among today’s youth.
A Conscious Choice as a Young Artist
Sara further elaborated that she believes such narratives are important for her generation. This belief led her to prioritise these films first, after which she plans to head abroad to pursue advanced acting studies. For her, the timing felt right to balance meaningful work with long-term growth.
Gearing Up for Telugu Debut
Sara is now preparing to enter Telugu cinema with Euphoria, directed by Gunasekhar. Speaking about her approach, she said she is always drawn to challenging roles and strong stories that push her creatively. Interestingly, she revealed that Euphoria was signed even before Dhurandhar came her way.
