Farah Khan’s Fond Memory
Director Farah Khan once revealed a touching anecdote from the shoot, recounting a moment that wasn’t part of the script but ended up becoming a fan favourite. The filmmaker highlighted not just the spontaneity of the actors, but also the deep admiration Salman Khan held for Dharmendra.
A Four-hour Wait for the He-Man!
Salman Khan, known for his unpredictable timing, surprised the crew during the shoot. Farah recalled in a 2020 chat with the Indian Film and Television Directors’ Association (IFTDA) that Salman showed an extraordinary gesture of respect.
Farah shared, “Salman… waited for four hours in Shah Rukh’s van to watch Dharam ji’s shot. He wasn’t obligated to be there; he was simply that excited to see the veteran superstar perform.”
A Moment No One Saw Coming
The magic unfolded when Dharmendra started performing his part of the song. Out of nowhere, Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, and Sanjay Dutt dove into the frame- completely unrehearsed and unplanned.
“That wasn’t planned,” Farah Khan explained. “They were standing behind the camera… and while Dharam ji was dancing, they just jumped into the shot.”
The impromptu entry caught Saif Ali Khan totally off guard, adding an amusing layer to the iconic moment. Farah recalled with laughter, “If you see Saif, he doesn’t know what is happening. He’s like, ‘Kya ho raha hai?’”
