Riding high on Tere Ishk Mein, Kriti Sanon confident about Shahid Kapoor’s Cocktail 2

National Award-winning actor Kriti Sanon is riding high on the success of her latest release Tere Ishk Mein, but she insists that the film’s positive box-office run hasn’t added any pressure on her upcoming project, Cocktail 2, also starring evergreen star Shahid Kapoor and the national crush Rashmika Mandanna. 

In a recent interview, the actor opened up about how she views success, expectations, and her mindset going into her next big release.

No Pressure After Tere Ishk Mein

Directed by Aanand L Rai, Tere Ishk Mein stars Kriti opposite Dhanush and has been performing well at the box office. Kriti’s performance in the film has earned strong praise, naturally raising expectations for Cocktail 2.

However, speaking to Hindustan Times, Kriti clarified that she doesn’t allow box-office success to weigh her down. “No, I don’t take that pressure. Every film is so different, you cannot expect everything to kind of pull the same kind of audiences,” she said.

Different Films, Different Audiences

Kriti further explained that Cocktail 2 caters to a very different audience compared to Tere Ishk Mein. According to her, the only thing within an actor’s control is the effort they put into their work.

“All I can do is work hard and give my best honestly. Beyond that, everything else is not in my control,” she shared, adding that several factors ultimately decide a film’s fate. Emphasising her approach, Kriti said she prefers to enjoy the process rather than burden herself or her filmmakers with expectations.

Reuniting With Shahid Kapoor

Cocktail 2 stars Kriti alongside Shahid and Rashmika. Kriti and Shahid previously shared screen space in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, and fans are eager to see them reunite.

Speaking to Zoom, Kriti described the comfort of working with Shahid again, highlighting their easy rapport on set.

Release Timeline and What to Expect

Directed by Homi Adajania and written by Luv Ranjan, Cocktail 2 is reportedly eyeing an August–October 2026 release. The film promises a fresh, contemporary take on love, friendship, and heartbreak, set against vibrant Indian and European backdrops.
