Ram Charan's Peddi gets new release date, makers make official announcement

The much-anticipated sports action drama Peddi, starring Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor, has officially been postponed. The makers confirmed that the film, which was earlier slated for a March 27, 2026 release, will now hit theatres on April 30, 2026. 

Taking to their X handle, the team announced the change with the caption, “The date of his arrival changes, but not his MIGHTY GRIT. #PEDDI WORLDWIDE RELEASE ON 30th APRIL, 2026.”

The announcement comes as a disappointment for fans, especially since Ram Charan had earlier dismissed postponement rumours and assured that the film was on track for its March release.

Ram Charan earlier denied postponement rumours

Earlier this year, Ram Charan attended an event in Hyderabad for Roshan Meka’s upcoming film Champion, where he was asked about Peddi’s release status. Addressing the speculation, the actor had confidently stated, “Shooting is going on for Peddi. It will be released on March 27.” However, despite his assurance, the makers have now officially revised the release timeline.

Industry sources suggest that while the production is progressing smoothly, the team opted for a later date to ensure a polished pan-India release and optimal theatrical window.

A source close to the production highlighted Ram Charan’s discipline and commitment as key strengths during the shoot. According to insiders, the action sequences in the current schedule have a raw and grounded feel, with the actor performing demanding stunts with precision and ease, thanks to his fitness and preparation. The unit is reportedly excited about how this powerful new avatar will resonate with audiences.

Ram Charan has also described Peddi as the most interesting character of his career so far. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, the Telugu sports action drama is presented by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings, under the banner of Vriddhi Cinemas. With Janhvi Kapoor playing the female lead, Peddi remains one of the most awaited releases of 2026 despite the delay.
