The 13th edition of IPL 2020 will now be held in UAE from the 19th of September to 8 November. Incidentally, Bigg Boss 14 will start airing on television from 27th September onwards. Similarly, if things go as planned Nach Baliye 10 will also air on Star Plus channel from September onwards.
This time along the schedule of IPL is clashing with two big reality shows on television. Usually, IPL starts in the month of March and ends by the second week of May. But due to coronavirus pandemic, it got delayed.
Will IPL 2020 Affect TRP Ratings of Bigg Boss 14 and Nach Baliye 10?
Bigg Boss started last year by the end of September. Similarly, Nach Baliye 9 aired from July 19 onwards. Both these reality shows received an overwhelming response. However, this time along things can be a bit different. It is because most of the Indians would always prefer to watch an IPL2020 match instead of any reality show. Moreover, the weekend episodes of Bigg 14 are the most-watched as Salman Khan appears on the show during the weekend.
Contrarily, Nach Baliye airs only on weekends. Now, the weekend matches of IPL are also high-profile which the fans will never want to miss. And this can certainly affect the TRP ratings of Bigg Boss 14 and Nach Baliye 10. Salman Khan will once again host the reality show on Colors. Regarding Nach Baliye 10, rumors are adrift that Bipasha Basu, Vaibhavi Merchant, and David Dhawan will be the judges this season.
8 teams participating in IPL 2020 will leave for UAE in the 3rd and 4th week of August. The tournament received a major setback due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, its regular title sponsor VIVO too has pulled out of the tournament. Vivo has a five-year contract of around 440 crores with BCCI. This decision was taken amicably due to rising tension between India and China on the border. However, it will be only a one-year pull-out and both BCCI and Vivo may join hands once again after things between the two countries return to normalcy.
