Tom Hiddleston has once again won Indian fans’ hearts by openly expressing his admiration for Indian cinema—and especially for Shah Rukh Khan.
In a recent interaction with Hollywood Reporter India, the actor spoke about the first Indian film he ever watched, his love for Bollywood, and the possibility of working with Indian filmmakers.

Devdas: Tom Hiddleston’s First Brush With Indian Cinema
While talking about Indian films, Tom revealed that the very first Indian movie he watched was Devdas. Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the 2002 period romantic drama starred Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai, and Madhuri Dixit in lead roles. Tom shared that he has loved Indian cinema for a long time and recalled watching Devdas at his local cinema. Describing the experience as extraordinary, he said he had never seen anything quite like it, highlighting the film’s lasting impression on him.
On Dream Collaborations and SS Rajamouli
When asked about working in an Indian film, Tom responded positively, saying it was something he would love to consider. On the topic of dream collaborations, he paused thoughtfully before filmmaker SS Rajamouli’s name was suggested. Reacting to that, Tom simply replied with an enthusiastic “excellent.” Rajamouli’s most recent blockbuster, RRR, starred NTR Jr, Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt, and Ajay Devgn, and gained massive global acclaim.

His Longstanding Admiration for Shah Rukh Khan
This isn’t the first time Tom has expressed his fondness for Shah Rukh Khan. In 2023, during an interview with Bollywood Hungama, he said Shah Rukh would make a great variant of Loki. Earlier, in a 2021 Prime Video word association game, Tom repeatedly associated both India and Bollywood with Shah Rukh Khan, reinforcing his admiration.
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan is set to appear next in King, directed by Siddharth Anand, further fueling excitement among fans worldwide.
