Creative Differences at the Core

Initial reports pointed to creative disagreements. The actor was said to be dissatisfied with the script and keen on choosing roles with deeper substance, while also committing his energy to Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge following the success of Dhurandhar. However, what seemed like a personal creative choice may now be spiralling into something far more complicated.

Production House Seeks Damages!

According to a report shared by Variety India, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment is apparently seeking compensation of ₹40 crore from Ranveer Singh, as the production house incurred significant losses during pre-production.

The reported amount reflects investments already made during planning, scheduling, and groundwork for the film before production could begin.

Actor Pushes Back

However, Singh reportedly disagrees with the claim and believes he should not be held responsible for the losses. A source was quoted saying,

“Ranveer claims he left the project because he wasn’t happy with the script. He kept asking for changes to be made and didn’t like what the final draft read. Excel, on the other hand, claims that they went ahead with pre-production only after Singh gave his go ahead.”

Meetings, Uncertainty and Mediation

The tension has seemingly impacted the film’s crew as well, with reports suggesting several department heads have been asked to explore work outside amid the delay. Last week, Singh and Excel Entertainment reportedly held a two-hour-long meeting, but no resolution was reached. With matters escalating, the Producers Guild of India (PGI) has now stepped in to mediate between both sides.

SRK To Step In As Don?

Meanwhile, fresh buzz indicates that the project may once again be offered to Shah Rukh Khan, the original face of the franchise who led Don (2006) and Don 2 (2011). While the speculation has reignited excitement among fans, there has been no official confirmation yet.

For now, Don 3 remains stuck between negotiations, legal tension, and an uncertain future.
