Mumbai: Moments after the Indian Air Force (IAF) demanded withdrawal of scenes from soon-to-be-released Netflix movie ‘AK vs AK’ starring Anil Kapoor and Anurag Kashyap, Kapoor took to Twitter and posted a video seeking an apology for ‘offending people’.
Objecting to some of the scenes, the IAF slammed actor Anil Kapoor and filmmaker Anurag Kashyap for the inaccurate uniform and inappropriate language used in AK vs AK trailer.
In a tweet, the IAF stated that the Air Force uniform being worn by Anil Kapoor in the trailer video has been ‘inaccurately donned’. The IAF further asked to withdraw related scenes from the movie.
“The IAF uniform in this video is inaccurately donned and the language used is inappropriate. This does not conform to the behavioural norms of those in the Armed Forces of India. The related scenes need to be withdrawn,” mentioned IAF.
Later in the day, Anil Kapoor in a video message said, “It has come to my notice that the trailer of my film ‘AK vs AK’ has offended some people. As I am wearing the Indian Air Force Uniform while using unparliamentary language, I would like to sincerely offer my humble apologies for unintentionally hurting anyone’s sentiments.”
As per the trailer of Vikramaditya Motwane’s AK vs AK, the film pits filmmaker Anurag Kashyap against Anil Kapoor in a clash of egos. The plot of the movie revolves around a kidnapping. Kashyap, a brash film director, abducts Anil Kapoor’s daughter in the movie, claims a report by Times Now. The movie is slated to release on December 24.
