From puncture shop to DSP! Telangana girl Allepu Mounika makes her family proud
Allepu Mounika, a resident of Mallampalli in Mulugu district, has carved a niche for herself by securing the position of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) through the Telangana State Group-1 examinations.
Her success has captured attention nationwide, not only for her accomplishment but also for the challenges she overcame to reach this milestone.
Mounika hails from a modest family. Her father, Sammayya, runs a small tyre puncture shop to support the household. Despite financial constraints, her parents ensured she received a proper education and encouraged her to pursue her dreams.
Completing her degree in 2020, Mounika could not afford expensive coaching classes and decided to prepare for the Group-1 exams independently, dedicating over 12 hours daily to studies, practicing test papers, and refining her knowledge.

Her hard work paid off when she achieved a commendable 315th rank, earning her the prestigious DSP position. The momentous occasion was celebrated in a ceremony attended by Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who personally handed over her nomination papers.
Mounika’s journey, from a small-town girl to a high-ranking police officer, has inspired many in her community and across the state. Her story highlights the power of perseverance, determination, and familial support, proving that circumstances cannot deter dedicated individuals from achieving their goals.
This achievement has also sparked discussions about the importance of education, resilience, and self-belief, motivating countless students from underprivileged backgrounds to dream big.
