In an inspiring story of perseverance and determination, Simrandeep Kaur from Birarhwal village in Nabha tehsil of Patiala district, Punjab, has cracked one of the country’s toughest examinations, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), securing an impressive All-India Rank (AIR) 15.

Born into a humble farming family, Simrandeep’s journey from a small village to the ranks of India’s future administrators stands as a powerful testament to hard work, patience and unwavering belief in one’s dreams. Her achievement has brought immense pride not only to her family but also to the entire village, inspiring countless young students growing up in rural India.

Inspiration For Rural Students

Simrandeep completed her post-graduation in Political Science from Khalsa College. Like many UPSC aspirants, she faced years of intense preparation, fierce competition and repeated challenges.

Speaking after her remarkable success, Simrandeep expressed her desire to stay connected to her roots and work for rural development. “Being a girl from a village, I understand the challenges faced by rural communities. I want to work for the development of villages and contribute towards improving the lives of people living there,” she said.

Her father, Kuldeep Singh, a farmer, expressed immense pride and gratitude at his daughter’s achievement. Overcome with emotion, he shared that the family plans to visit Sri Harmandir Sahib in Amritsar to offer prayers and thank God for the success.

“For a farmer’s daughter to reach this position is a proud moment for us and for the entire village. If a person works hard and stays determined, nothing is impossible,” he said.
