In an important announcement made on Sunday, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) postponed Class X and Class XII board examinations scheduled for March 2, 2026, in select Middle Eastern countries due to the prevailing situation in the region.

The decision impacts students studying in CBSE-affiliated schools across Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

According to the Board, the postponement applies only to the examinations scheduled on Monday, March 2. Revised dates for these exams will be announced at a later stage.

CBSE further stated that it will review the situation on March 3 and take a call regarding examinations scheduled from March 5 onwards. Students have been advised to remain in regular contact with their respective schools and stay alert to official updates issued by the Board.

“Students and schools are informed that due to the current situation in parts of the Middle East (Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE), CBSE has decided that the examinations scheduled for Monday, 02 March 2026, for both Class X and Class XII, are postponed. The new dates shall be announced later. The Board will review the situation on Tuesday, 03 March 2026, and take appropriate decisions with regard to examinations scheduled from 05 March onwards,” a notification issued in this regard by the CBSE mentioned.

“All students are advised to stay in touch with their respective schools for updates and follow official announcements carefully,” the official circular expressed.

Notably, this reschedule will impact only the students of CBSE-affiliated schools in the Middle East.
