Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Crime Branch personnel on Saturday called off their scheduled visit to OTV office in connection with a notice served to the company's MD.
The Crime Branch had sent a notice to OTV (MD) in connection with the alleged minor gang rape case. In response to the notice, the OTV MD had urged the agency to visit the company's office for questioning as per provisions under the law.
However, the officials through a phone call informed that they will be unable to visit the news channel's office due to some reasons and would come on a later date.
Manoj Mishra, assistant manager of OTV, said, "The Crime Branch officials were supposed to visit the OTV office today. But they called up to inform that they are unable to come today. They further said they would issue prior notice before visiting the office on a future date."
The Mahila police in Bhubaneswar was investigating the case before the Crime Branch took over the probe on October 6.
On the other hand, the next hearing on a Public Interest Litigation filed in connection with the case before the Orissa High Court is scheduled for November 9.
