At a time when the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is investigating the alleged nexus of politicians with lady blackmailer Archana Nag, opposition leaders have brought IAS and IPS officers under the scanner of ED by maintaining that apart from politicians, IAS and IPS officers had fallen prey to Archana’s honey trap.
Both Congress and BJP targeted the bureaucrats over their alleged nexus with the lady blackmailer Archana Nag. BJP leader Jayanarayan Mishra and Congress leader Narasingha Mishra have maintained this.
Addressing the media, BJP leader Jayanarayan Mishra said, “Apart from politicians, IAS and IPS officers are involved in Archana Nag’s case. I know the names of IAS and IPS officers. But it cannot be disclosed. ED investigation should find them out.”
Seconding Jayanarayan Mishra, Congress leader Narasingha Mishra said, “ED should carry out its investigation properly and not like the chit fund case. Being the most sensational issue of the state, the State Assembly should raise the issue during the winter session.”
On the other hand, Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Pramila Mallick said, “Those found culprits will be punished as per the law.”
Khageswar Patra, who is business partner of Archana and Jagabandhu, appeared before the court On Monday. As his remand period has expired, ED has again sought a 5-day remand.
The ED is likely to conduct a triangular integration after getting remand order from the court
Earlier, Patra had moved the Orissa High Court pleading his innocence in the matter to avoid arrest.
So far, ED has summoned 15 persons including politicians, businessmen, builders and a few companies.
