Youth shot at by miscreants in Koraput; police begin probe

Koraput: Police today intensified probe after a youth was shot at by 'unidentified miscreants' in Koraput on Saturday.

The youth, Lajja Pangi, sustained bullet injuries in the firing and is now undergoing treatment at Sahid Laxman Nayak Medical College and Hospital here, sources said.

Doctors at the hospital informed that Pangi has sustained a bullet injury on his back and his condition is critical.

According to reports, a few unidentified miscreants fired at Pangi from behind when he was returning home Saturday night.

Though the exact reason behind the firing is still unclear, police have swung into action as the incident occurred on the first day of the martyrs' week being observed by the Maoists in the region.
