Khurda: Palpable tension prevailed at Deuli village in Khurda after a youth was hacked to death today by miscreants over suspected past rivalry. The deceased has been identified as Chinmaya Sahu. According to reports, Chinmaya was attacked when he going to the local market on his motorcycle.
Sources said miscreants hacked Chinmaya with sharp weapons. Soon after the incident, irate locals set the house of a local resident in the locality on fire suspecting his involvement in the brutal killing.
“My son had left home at around 11 AM today and later one of my relatives informed that he died in an attack,” said deceased Chinmaya’s mother. Another relative Brundaban Sahu informed that Chinmaya had some past enmity with Niranjan and Narrotam Sahu.
“We suspect the involvement of both the brothers and we want them to be arrested soon,” said Brundaban.
“We have sent the body for post mortem and preliminary investigation reveals that youth was murdered over some past rivalry. However, we have started an investigation and accused involved in the crime will be nabbed soon,” said a senior police official.
