Woman stoned to death in Jajpur; husband detained

Jajpur: A man has been detained for allegedly killing his wife at Teligarhmunda Sahi under Badchana police limits in Jajpur district on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Kadam Purti, wife of Laxman Purti.

According to sources, the couple entered into an altercation late on Sunday night over some issue. Later, in a fit of rage Laxman assaulted Kadam and allegedly killed her by hitting her with stone, added sources.

On getting information, Badachana police reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem.

“Based on the complaint lodged by Kadam’s brother, we have registered a case against the accused. Primary interrogation is over and further probe is on,” said Badchana IIC (Inspector-in-Charge), Sarat Patra.
