Woman critical in murderous attack in Cuttack

Cuttack: A woman sustained critical injuries after she was attacked with sharp weapons by an unidentified youth near Badambadi area in the city on Sunday.

The injured woman was admitted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital, where she is currently undergoing treatment.

Sources said an altercation ensued between the woman and the youth in a stationary shop over some issue. In a fit of rage, the youth attacked the woman with a blade and then with another sharp object.

However, the youth was somehow nabbed by a few locals, who later thrashed him black and blue and handed him over to the police, informed sources.

Meanwhile, police have detained the youth and interrogating him to elicit his motive behind the attack, added sources.
