Trader stabbed in Cuttack, probe begins

Cuttack: A trader sustained critical injuries after he was stabbed by unidentified miscreants at Malgodown area on Saturday night. The injured, identified as Damodar has sustained injuries on his neck and is now undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the city.

According to reports, Damodar was attacked when he was returning home after closing his shop at Malgodown at around 9 PM yesterday.

Though the exact reason is still unclear, police suspect that the trader was attacked over some money-related dispute. However, the exact reason will be ascertained after the statements of the victim are recorded.

In another incident, miscreants looted a gold chain after attacking a woman near Dal Mill lane near Pithapur area today.

According to reports, the woman has sustained injuries on hand after the miscreants attacked her with a knife. Badambadi Police has started a probe into the incident basing on the complaint filed by the victim.
