Balasore: A businessman was allegedly looted by unidentified miscreants at gun point near Daradiabalipur in Bahanaga of Balasore district on NH-5 Wednesday evening.
As per reports, three-bike borne miscreants tried to snatch a bag containing cash from the trader Tusarkanta Sahu while he was returning home on a motorcycle from Bahanaga.
During the scuffle, Sahu fell from his bike and all of a sudden one of the miscreants pulled out a mauser gun and pointed at Sahu. The two other accused then snatched the bag containing Rs 15,000, mobile phone and a gold chain from Sahu and fled the spot.
Meanwhile, locals rescued Sahu and rushed him to a nearby hospital. Later, he was shifted to the Balasore district headquarters hospital.
Hospital source said the trader has sustained leg fracture and severe head injuries and his condition is stated to be critical.
