RSP staff shot dead by miscreants over monetary dispute

Rourkela: An employee of Rourkela Steel Plant was shot dead by unidentified miscreants in Sector-1 area of the city on Thursday evening. The deceased has been identified as Kailash Chandra Sahu.

According to sources, four miscreants barged into the house of Sahu and opened fire three rounds of bullets at him.Sahu received bullet shots on his head and chest and was rushed to Rourkela IGH in a critical condition. Doctors declared him brought dead, sources said.

Though the exact reason behind the firing is yet to be established, it is suspected that the attack might have been fall out over some dispute regarding monetary transactions, sources said.

Police along with a forensic team have inspected the spot to collect evidence in connection with the incident. A motorcycle has been seized and probe has been launched to nab the assailants.
