Balasore: In a case of one-sided love, a girl sustained serious injuries after a man allegedly attacked her with a blade for refusing his marriage proposal in Soro of Balasore district here on Wednesday.
According to sources, the incident occurred near Ashram Chhak in Soro when the girl was intercepted by the accused, Sheikh Zakir, while she was on her way to college with her friends. After she rejected his marriage proposal, Zakir, in a fit of rage attacked her with a blade.
The girl sustained serious injuries and was immediately shifted to Soro Community Health Centre (CHC).
On getting information, police reached the spot and initiated an investigation in this regard.
"The girl had earlier rejected his marriage proposal. The accused intercepted the girl and insisted her to marry him. But after the girl rejected his proposal, the man attacked her with blade injuring her seriously. Following the girl's complaint, a case was registered. The accused, Sheikh Zakir has been arrested," said Soro IIC Kartik Chandra Mallick.
