Nurse Niharika Murder Case: Police Interrogates Friend’s Family

Jagatsinghpur: A day after the dead body of nurse, Niharika Patra was found stuffed inside a sack from Biluakhai riverbed in Jagatsinghpur, suspicion that her friend Kishore Chandra Anchalalias Raja is behind the murder, grew stronger. Biridi Police today interrogated the family members of Raja, including his father, brother and four friends.

Meanwhile, the brother-in-law of Niharika has blamed police for Niharika's death and alleged that Raja had murdered her.

"Had police investigated the case properly, Niharika could have been saved. Cops showed negligence everytime we went to ask about Niharika's whereabouts," said Niharika's brother-in-law.

While a police investigation is currently underway, the accused is yet to be traced.

Speaking about the case, Jagatsinghpur SDPO Prakash Pal said, "Only after receiving the post-mortem report we will be able to investigate the case further. The accused is absconding since September 13."

As per reports, Niharika, who worked as a paramedical staff at a private nursing home in Cuttack, was missing since September 9 and her body was found stuffed inside a sack from Biluakhai riverbed on Tuesday. It is suspected that Niharika was murdered and her body was dumped at the spot.
