Minor girl raped in Mayurbhanj

Mayurbhanj: A minor girl was allegedly raped in Gendagadia village under Kaptipada block of the district.

According to sources, the girl had gone to a nearby forest to graze cattle when a youth of the same village allegedly raped her and fled from the spot on Tuesday.

After returning from the forest she described the ordeal to her family members.

Later, to sort out the matter, the village committee had arranged a meeting and called the minor's father and accused youth but nobody turned up, sources added.

An FIR in this connection was registered at Kaptipada police station following the complaint of the girl's father.

Meanwhile, police has arrested the accused and sent the girl for medical examination. Further investigation is on.
