Kendrapara: A 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped and impregnated by her paternal uncle and cousin brother in Pattamundai area of Kendrapara district. The matter came to light after the survivor, now seven-months pregnant, lodged an FIR at the Pattamundai police station on Wednesday.
The minor girl had left studies after the death of her mother and used to live with her father, a daily wage labourer.
According to the complaint, the girl’s paternal uncle and cousin brother used to rape her after her father left home for work. This had been going on for the last two years. The duo had also threatened the girl of dire consequences if she revealed the matter to anyone.
“My paternal uncle and brother raped me. I told them about my pregnancy and they had assured to resolve the matter. However now, both of them are refusing their involvement. I want justice,” the survivor appealed.
“I don’t know since how long my younger brother and elder brother’s son have been committing the crime. I came to know about the matter only after my daughter was found seven months pregnant,” said the girl’s father.
Meanwhile, a complaint has been registered into the incident and investigation is on.
