Sundergarh: Tangarpali Police on Saturday nabbed two minor boys on the charges of gang raping a minor girl on July 31.
According to reports, the survivor had gone to the local market for shopping when three boys in an SUV asked her to accompany them for a ride. Later, the trio took the girl to an isolated place and allegedly gang raped her.
The matter came to light after the girl narrated her ordeal to her parents who subsequently filed a complaint at Tangarpali Police Station on August 2.
"Basing on the complaint that the girl was gang raped after the trio forced her to consume alcohol, we have apprehended the two accused. A special team has been formed to nab another accused who is absconding," said Rourkela DSP Asim Panda.
As both the accused are juveniles, they have been sent to a short-stay home while further investigation in this connection is on.
