Bhanjanagar: A man allegedly fed poison to his two-month old daughter at Dihapadhala here in Ganjam district. The accused is reportedly a mentally challenged person.
The infant has been admitted to Bhanjanagar sub-divisional hospital. Her condition is stated to be critical.
The incident took place in absence of other family members in the house. "My husband is denying feeding poison to the baby. But, I could smell of poisonous chemical from the mouth of the baby. So, we rushed her to the hospital immediately," said Laxmi Swain, mother of the baby.
