Man commits suicide after killing his 'wives' in Baripada

Mayurbhanj: A man allegedly murdered his two wives and later committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree late last night in Tadakishola village of Baripada.

Reportedly, the man identified as Shyama Mati of the village beat his two wives to death with a hammer around 11:30 pm yesterday and later hanged himself from a tree near his house.

The matter came to light after a police complaint was lodged by brother-in-law of Shyama, Sunaram Murmu. Following which, cops along with a scientific team reached the spot and launched an investigation. Later, the bodies were sent for post mortem.

In his complaint, Sunaram stated that Shyama was mentally deranged and must have committed suicide after killing the two women over family feud.

"Preliminary investigation shows the man killed the two women with a hammer, which was recovered from the spot. However, the post mortem of the bodies will reveal the details," a police official said.
