Man attacked over past rivalry in Sonepur

Sonepur: A man was allegedly attacked by his neighbour over past enmity at Palipada village under Binika block in the district late on Thursday night.

As per reports, one Raj Kumar Nag was allegedly attacked with a sharp weapon by his neighbour Ramesh Bhoi and his son Akash Bhoi.

Ramesh and Nag barged into Raj Kumar's house while he was fast asleep. To take revenge the duo slit Raj Kumar's throat with a sharp weapon. Raj's daughter Nina also suffered injuries in an effort to save her father, said family members of the victim.

Critically injured Raj Kumar and Nina were rushed to hospital by the locals. Later, the duo was shifted to Burla hospital after their condition deteriorated.

Hospital sources said the condition of Nina is stable while Raj Kumar is stated to be critical.

Meanwhile, police have initiated an investigation to nab the accused father and son who are reportedly absconding.
