Balasore: Police have arrested a man today on charges of raping a 6-year-old girl in Soro area of Balasore district.
As per reports, the incident took place on Monday during Maha Shivaratri celebrations when the minor girl had gone to a nearby temple. While she was returning home, the accused lured the victim by giving her chocolates and allegedly raped her.
Based on the complaint lodged by the girl's family, police arrested the accused and forwarded him to court today.
"Basing on the complaint of family members of the survivor, we registered a case against the accused and arrested him. We have forwarded him to the court," said in-charge of Soro Police Station, Khyamasagar Panda.
After conducting medical tests, police has launched an investigation into the case.
