Bhubaneswar: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW), Bhubaneswar today arrested the Managing Director of real estate company Wellmade Builders Pvt. Ltd., Sk Hasib in connection with a land fraud to the tune of Rs 22.5 lakh.
According to sources, a case was registered in pursuance with the order passed by the Orissa High Court in CRLMP No.261/2016 filed by one Mohammad Nawaz Hassan.
The investigation so far revealed that the crime was executed as a result of the criminal conspiracy hatched amongst the MD of the alleged company and a few others.
The complainant, Mohammed Nawaz had paid Rs 22.55 lakh to Hasib after being provoked by other accused, in 2013 to purchase a plot at Adarsha Nagar in Mouza-Ramdaspur, Baranga and a shop room at Raghunathpur near Nandakanan, Zoological park, Bhubaneswar
The accused had also issued money receipt and made an agreement. But finally the company as well as its MD failed to deliver the land or return the money to Nawaz. Later when the petitioner approached Hasib, he threatened him of dire consequences.
Subsequently, Hasib closed the company's office and absconded and in the whole process, the complainant was cheated of his hard earned money. Hasib was arrested today and forwarded to the OPID Court, Cuttack, sources said.
Earlier, two other accused Rahematun Nesha and Sk Majhar were arrested and forwarded to OPID Court while further investigation into the case is still on.
