Bhubaneswar: Excise officials today busted a duplicate liquor manufacturing unit which was operating inside an ashram near Khandagiri in Bhubaneswar.
Acting on a tip off, the Excise officials conducted a surprise raid on the ashram near Khandagiri. The officials seized duplicate liquor, spirit, bottle caps and other materials from the ashram and arrested three persons involved in the business. The persons arrested by the officials have been identified as residents of Bihar.
Questions are now being raised as to how such an illegal activity was being carried out inside an ashram. Following the raid, the officials have launched a probe to find out whether the ashram authorities had prior knowledge and were involved in the illegal trade.
