Berhampur: A dreaded criminal Anant Kumar Macchua alias Mani suffered injuries on his right leg during an encounter with police near Gudidhepa in Khallikote of Ganjam district today.
Macchua was initially admitted to a hospital in Khallikote and later shifted to MKCG Medical College & Hospital where he is currently undergoing treatment. The criminal is said to be a resident of Ranpur area of Nayagarh.
According to sources, more than 10 criminal cases have been filed against Macchua. Police seized 1 pistol, 3 live bullets and a bike from Macchua's possession.
