Criminal nabbed after encounter in Kendrapara

Kendrapara: Police today nabbed notorious criminal Pratap Sahu alias Bibhu, after an encounter near Bhagabanpur under Marshaghai block in the district.

Acting on a tip off, a special squad of the district police along with personnel from the Korua outpost conducted raids at some places near Bhagabanpur.

Finding police on the spot, the criminal opened fire, but was injured after cops backfired in retaliation.

He has reportedly sustained injuries on both his legs and has been admitted to the Kendrapara district headquarters hospital. His condition is stated to be stable.

Bibhu was wanted in more than 30 cases including bombing, shootout, and murder, informed police.

This is the second encounter by the Kendrapara police in the last one month. Earlier on May 9, notorious criminalSeikh Lala was arrested by the district police following an encounter near Alabanka.
