Khurda: It seems there is no stopping to obscene videos and pictures getting viral on social media in the state, as once again an objectionable picture of a girl from Naranagarh area in Khurda district surfaced on various social media platforms including Facebook and WhatsApp.
According to the complaint lodged at the Jankia police station, the girl studying in a computer coaching centre was drugged, stripped and filmed by a teacher of the institute.
Later, the teacher forced her to marry him and blackmailed her by showing the video and pictures he had captured. He also threatened her that he would make those pictures viral on social media.
However, it has been alleged that when she rejected, the teacher, in a fit of revenge, posted all the pictures on various social media platforms.
Based on the complaint lodged by the girl, Jankia police registered a case against the accused teacher and have launched a manhunt to nab him, sources said.
Officer In-charge of Jankia PS, Mrunmay Senapati said, “The accused is absconding, and he was not in his home when we conducted a raid. He will be tracked soon. All the pictures and videos, if any, will be identified and removed from Facebook and other social media platforms. We have registered a case and stringent action will be taken against the teacher as per the IPC Sections.”
