Baripada minor girl rape: Accused arrested by police

Mayurbhanj: Police have arrested the accused in alleged rape of a 4-year-old minor girl in Baripada. The accused was arrested today after a complaint was lodged at Badasahi Police Station on Tuesday.

The accused identified as Kamalalochan Singh was arrested by a special squad. While a case under POCSO was registered against Singh, police have informed that a chargesheet will soon be filed against him.

"The accused was arrested today after a case was filed on January 15. We are trying to file a chargesheet at the earliest," Badasahi police station in-charge Jaynarayan Khandai said.

The girl is currently undergoing treatment at Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital in Baripada.
