Armed robbers loot cash & ornaments at gun point in Keonjhar

Keonjhar: Two unidentified armed robbers looted cash and gold ornaments from the house of one Binit Bansal in Panchwati area near Barbil of Keonjhar district late on Thursday night.

The incident occurred after two men carrying country-made pistols barged into the house at around 9pm yesterday.

As per the allegations of the family members, the miscreants looted Rs 6 lakh cash and a gold chain by pointing the pistols at them. However, in a hurry the duo left the pistols in the house before fleeing the house, sources said.

On getting information, Barbil police reached the spot and started an investigation into the incident.

In a similar incident on January 22, armed dacoits looted cash and ornaments worth lakhs of rupees from the house of one Sushant Mahana in Routarapur under Remuna block of Balasore district.
