75-year-old man arrested on charges of raping daughter-in-law

Kendrapara: Police on Wednesday arrested a 75-year-old man on charges of sexually assaulting his 35-year-old widowed daughter-in-law in Kendrapara district.

According to sources, the incident took place in Badagaon village under the Marshaghai police limits yesterday when the accused, Amulya Pradhan, allegedly sexually assaulted his own daughter-in-law in their house.

After the woman lodged a complaint, police initiated an investigation into the incident and arrested Pradhan.

"The accused Amulya Pradhan was arrested after his daughter-in-law lodged a complaint against him alleging that he sexually assaulted her. Further interrogation is on," said a police official.
