Miscreants target donation boxes of temples in Odisha

Dhenkanal/Puri: In two separate instances, robbers targeted the donation boxes inside temples and looted cash.

The first incident was reported from Malpura Ram temple in Kamakhyanagar in Dhenakanal, where miscreants entered the temple by breaking the locks of the main gate and fled away with cash.

According to sources, the miscreants also stole the hard disk containing the CCTV footage in a bid to destroy evidence of the robbery.

In the second incident, robbers looted the donation box at Shiruli Mahabir temple at Chandanpur in Puri yesterday night. Sources said that cash worth lakhs was robbed by the miscreants.

Irate over the incident, locals staged protest demanding immediate arrest of the accused.
