Lady software engineer found hanging in Bhubaneswar apartment

Mystery shrouds the death of a lady software engineer, whose body was found hanging in an apartment in Bhubaneswar. The deceased has been identified as Sweta Utkal Kumari. 

It is suspected that Sweta, who hails from Bhadrak and was working at a reputed IT company in Bhubaneswar, died by suicide. She was staying at an apartment located at Shailashree Vihar area.

As per initial reports, Sweta died by suicide on Friday night. The matter came to light after the family members could not contact her over mobile phone.

With no other option, the family members then sought help of Chandrasekharpur police, and later, a team of the cops found Sweta’s body hanging inside the apartment room which was apparently locked. The police team gained entry after breaking the door, sources said.

Police have recovered a diary from Sweta’s room and also seized her mobile phone. The body was later handed over to the family after autopsy.

The deceased software engineer’s family has demanded an appropriate investigation in this regard. Though the exact reason behind Sweta’s death is not clear, further investigation is currently underway in connection with the incident.
