Youth injured in attack by miscreants in snatching bid

Bhubaneswar/Cuttack:  A man was critically injured after being shot at by two bike-borne miscreants while he resisted a chain snatching attempt on his wife by the miscreants.

The incident took place at Sijua here when the couple was travelling in a car to their home at Aiginia area.

The injured, identified as Biswaranjan Swain was admitted to AIIMS. Meanwhile, police reached the spot and launched a manhunt to nab the criminals.

In another incident, two bike-borne miscreants hurled bomb at a hotel in Badambadi area of Cuttack on Sunday night. They immediately fled the spot after committing the crime.

However, no casualty or loss of properties has been reported.  The incident has triggered a panic among locals.

Meanwhile, police launched an investigation.
